So I was reading about Rihanna’s date with a girl last week and in the back of my mind I’m thinking… Ok I’m not thinking anything. What is Bi-curiosity? How is it being different from being gay, lesbian or just confused? In case you are lost, “bi curious” is a term that is used to refer to women who are sort of attracted to other women and or are curious to date or shag other women yet they are not necessarily lesbian or bisexual. Apparently bi-curious women are playful and ready to experiment the taste of female flesh just for fun and can range from kissing and touching to intimate sexual contact, and everything in between. There is no actual definition of where bi-curious behaviour begins and ends. Hence I ask if it’s a bit of bi-confusion or pure greediness. Confusing right?

So some study has just found out that most women (a staggering 60%) are bi-curious. That gets me thinking. Maybe all of us have been in relationships with other women. I mean come to think of it what is the difference between being in a relationship and the following situations:

- Cuddling with another woman under the blanket while watching a chick flick

- Crying together (C’mon!)

- Chatting on the phone for hours about how evil guys really are (need I say more?)

- Holding each other while you sleep (hmm)

- Showering together

- Complimenting each other’s boobs (again hmm)

The list goes on and on, but does that mean we are Bi? Aren’t women just emotional beings that enjoy closeness in friendship? Is friendship actually a form of a love relationship? Have women been so hurt by men that they have to seek solid affections from women?

Several celebrities have admitted to being either being bi-curious or bi-sexual. Fergie from Black-Eyed Peas has admitted that she has “experimented” with other girls. Let’s not forget Lindsay Lohan with her ex-love Sam Ronson. Carmen Elektra, Megan Fox and Hayden Panettiere are some of the stars who have hinted some lady love.

Another thing that captured my attention is a study that was done by Alfred Kinsey which basically concluded that a few of us are actually core-straight. Apparently most people fall on the bi side and that includes guys by the way. So next time you compliment someone of the same sex on how they look good in something, it might just be your bi-curious side leaking through. Did I mention Kinsey was bisexual?
