So there are flyers going around that Mc Donald’s has a meal with a Quarter Pounder and Mc Chicken, chips and a drink for only R12.99 dated for 15 June, after the whole Steers R10 debacle. Well it’s not true. On their website Mc Donald’s released this statement:

McDonald’s WILL NOT be offering a Quarter Pounder or a Mc
Chicken burger for R12.99 on Friday 15 June 2012. This is a
hoax and is untrue.

So sorry for all the people who already budgeted for their meal tomorrow lunchtime.
Just to mention also that this Steers thing turned out to be quite a flop. People were angry (and rightfully so) because turns out that Steers ran short of stock ( I mean WTH). To me it seemed like they didn’t plan this thing thoroughly because there was no limited on how many burgers each individual could buy. And hallo! If you’re going to have a special this big shouldn’t you make sure that there is a whole lot of extra stock and that there is sufficient staff.
Next time I hope Steers plans this through because it is a great marketing tool and more sales for them but best of all people get to buy a burger for only R10 which is rare these days.
