In ancient medieval times, there was an Roman army church that was killing in the name of God, calling it a punishment for disobeying God’s will, season after season taking down armies that were said to be unholy and the quest was for all the enemies of God to be killed.
Nicholas Cage and his close friend Ron Perlan are the knights of this holy army; they pledged themselves into the army because there were told that their sins will be forgiven if they fight for God himself.
Whenever they go to battle they will have this ritual that whoever kills the least will buy drinks afterwards, so you can imagine if you were in those times facing people who killed for a living day-in-day-out, your guarantee of survival are next to nothing. Until the battle of Smyrna were their conscious came in after entering the gate of the city, in all the smoke they realized that they were killing women and children, so the two friends called it quits and took a journey to the unknown, they ended up in a city were plague of death has killed alot people which was a spell created by a witch played by Claire Foy.
The Rabbi had asked two knights to help his men escort the witch to the monks in a temple where the witch can be sent back to hell, because witchcraft is forbidden in the city, it is taken in account as consorting with the devil. So as the journey takes place all hell breaks loose. If you are into ancient medieval movies and you are a big fan of Nicholas Cage go and watch this movie you won’t be disappointed.
