South Africa’s biggest after party
Introducing the most sought-after marquee to grace the Vodacom Durban
July, “G&G Live”. Conceptualised by local entertainment powerhouse, G&G
Productions, this marquee is sure to be the hottest and most vibrant place
to relax and party at this year’s race the 7th July. G&G Productions are
no newcomers to the July having pioneered and hosted the Official Vodacom
Durban July Afterparty since 2008, which now welcomes over 8500 people
annually.
The hottest entertainment talent has been secured including MC’s for the
day 5FM’s Roger Goode, drive show host DJ Fresh and breakfast show host Gareth
Cliff. The 5FM trio will be supported by top local electronic performers,
ChianoSky, Veranda Panda, DJ Blair (Durban DJs) and Sp!ndoctor (G&G
resident) and support musicians Sterra on bongo and Jane Baillie on
Violin.
Comfortable lounge areas and stylish bars will adorn the sight overlooking
large natural water features, all in keeping with the eco theme of the
July in 2012. A delicious selection of food will be available throughout the
day, keeping hunger and hangovers at bay!
From the Marquee the party will move on to this year’s Official Vodacom
Durban July Afterparty, to be held at the DLI Hall. Powered by Vodacom 4U
and Samsung, this event forms the climax of a weekend filled with pure
entertainment for Durban and its visitors.
Partygoers can expect three dance floors, with top headline DJs and
performers on each. Whether you are on the supercharged main dance floor,
the Enchanted Garden or in the VIP Deluxe area, you will experience
something spectacular. The latest in lighting, stage design, sound, and
over 50 pre-produced on-screen displays and projections are just the
beginning of the event’s highlights. The format of the event has been
altered to follow a festival approach. This means a long list of top DJs,
a diversity of music styles playing on a variety of dance floors, unique
décor elements and an all-round atmosphere of opulence and revelry.

The afterparty also offers safe and secure parking at the DLI Hall, which
is in walking distance from the races, within the Greyville racecourse.
Parking tickets can be purchased for R40. Guests will be able to park in this area
from 8am on Saturday with security provided until 4am on Sunday after the
close of the afterparty. Parking tickets can also be purchased from
selected Vodacom 4U stores and Computicket outlets nationwide.
